This page is obviously not being updated with any regularity. For
up-to-the-minute news about my world, please visit the links above.
Lots of fall 2008 dates (with more on the way) have been posted at
the concerts page. I'll be touring with Sam Phillips in September and with The Claudia Quintet in October and November.

Some exciting new projects are in the works. Bad Stravinsky, also
known as music from the films of Jean-Luc Godard, will be appearing at
MOMA and the Stone. I've been working on these arrangements on
and off for a long time. We'll have some new Godard music and
will also play some versions of pieces from "Emigré."
Joining me for these performances are Tanya Kalmanovitch, Oscar
Noriega, and Fabrizio Mazzetta.
In September I'll be debuting my new, as yet unnamed, solo project for piano and electronics as part of a mini
Skirl-fest in Brookline and then again at the Stone later in the month.
Starting later this fall I'll be presenting a monthly series of performances at the
Eagles Lodge in Hyde Park, MA where what will happen is anyone's guess.
More information is available at the
concerts page.
In film news, "Year of the Fish" won a nice award at the Avignon Film
Festival and is continuing to win over audiences at film fests
worldwide. I believe it's playing in Korea this week.
"The Memory Thief" is making its European debut at the Cambridge Film Festival this weekend.
For more information about my film work or anything else, feel free to
email.

I posted a couple of tracks from "The Memory Thief" score
here. Enjoy. More information on The Memory thief, is avalable at the film's
official site.
In other indie film news, it appears that "The Year of the Fish" will
be at the Sundance Film Festival later this month. Good luck to
David and the gang. Their official site is
here. I wrote and performed two songs that are played by the male love interest.
I also posted a couple of reviews of "My Ears Are Bent" in the
reviews page. If you read closely, you will find a rather amazing misinterpretation of my song titles, as well as my upbringing.

Sorry for the laxness in updating. For more up-to-the-minute
reporting on what I'm doing and/or thinking about, please visit
my new blog.
The score I talked about back in June was for an indie feature called
"The Memory Thief," directed by Gil Kofman, starring Mark Webber and
Rachel Miner. I finished it in August with the help of Anthony
Burr and an all-star band featuring Mr. Burr as well as John Hebert,
John Hollenbeck, Dave Shively, and Karen Waltuch. I played guitar
and electronics.
No screening information right now, but hopefully it will emerge in the
next few months. I may post some excerpts on the downloads page.
With the Claudia Quintet, I played in Brazil, Hungary, Portugal, the
Midwest, and the West Coast. We recorded our new album last
weekend at Sear Sound in Manhattan. Exciting.

Very big doings here at tedreichman.com. No time for the extended elaboration right now, but here's a short rundown...
I'm composing a score for an excellent film, which I will explain further when it's done.
I just got back from an amazing whirlwind trip to Andalucia with La Mar
Enfortuna. Great concert, great city, great everything. Not
sure whether the bullfight I saw on TV before the gig helped, though.
I am playing in a couple of weeks at a big festival in England with the
great Antony and the Johnsons. Details at the
concerts page.
A short article I wrote about Anthony Braxton's 100 Tuba performance at
the Bang on a Can Marathon, and by extension, my experiences with
Braxton, will be published in DownBeat magazine at some point in the not-too-distant future.
"My Ears Are Bent" got a really nice review
here.
In other "MEAB" news, all Skirl releases should be available soon from
iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, and some other online sources I am unfamiliar
with. If you really want to support Skirl (and by extension, me),
please purchase a hard copy from the good folks at
skirlrecords.com.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

My Ears Are Bent is available now. Many thanks to everyone who helped it to happen.
And many thanks to everyone who came to the Skirl Launch show last
night at Tonic. It was a genuinely moving experience to play for
you.
The liner note are
here.

Skirl is almost
here...
please be patient. I know the anticipation is killing you. The
design is amazing. I will post some "liner notes" for My Ears Are
Bent soon.
We will have a big launch fiesta at tonic on April 11. My Ears Are Bent
(me, Mary Halvorson, John Hollenbeck) will be there, along with The
Clarinets (Anthony Burr, Oscar Noriega, Chris Speed), Tyft (Hilmar
Jensson, Andrew D'Angelo, Jim Black), The New Mellow Edwards (Curtis
Hasselbring, John Hollenbeck, Trevor Dunn, Chris Speed), and more!
Please come and show your support for independent music....
My Ears Are Bent will also be playing at The Stone on April 25 with
special guest Ben Perowsky on drums. We are after Secret Chiefs.
Should be psychotic.
Claudia Quintet heads south next week. Info here.
I've succumbed: my new myspace page is here.
More soon,
